By now you probably know that Ruth Reichl’s haikulike tweets have spawned @RuthBourdain — a mash-up of Bourdain’s punk attitude and love of street food (and street drugs) with Reichl’s farmhouse livin’. It might be the most inspired Twitter-based food-world satire since fake Restaurant Girl. (The creator isn’t giving up his or her identity, and the man behind fake RG, Adam Robb, tells us it isn’t him.) Well, yesterday there was another brilliant Bourdain-Reichl mash-up when Reichl called in to interrupt the weekly “Tao of Ruth” segment of Bourdain’s Sirius radio show, “Turn and Burn.” Said Bourdain: “I so wanna be you, Ruth.” And Reichl: “Yeah, I wanna be me, too.” The show replays March 20 at 4 p.m. on the Martha Stewart Living channel, and you can sign up for a free trial at Sirius.
