Recession Ends for Food Events

The recession must be over, because big-ticket food events are back! Daniel Boulud hosts the "Burgundy, Bordeaux, Blue Jeans & Blues" event at Daniel on April 18 for $1,000 a plate. The fine Oxford American is hosting a dinner at Blue Smoke on April 6 to celebrate its 2010 Southern Food Issue. Guest editor John T. Edge, director of the Southern Foodways Alliance, will be there with some OA writers and "special guests." Homesick southerners interested in participating should prepare to pay a tax-deductible $500 for their meal. (Call 501-320-5730 or e-mail for reservations.)
