Paxti’s Adds a Noe Valley Location, Sparky’s Expanding In Oakland, and More

Noe Valley: Mi Lindo Yucatan, whose 15th Street location is being taken by Pica Pica, also shuttered a Noe Valley branch that we now hear is being added to the Paxti’s empire. We’re personally in the Little Star camp when it comes to deep-dish Chicago pies, but clearly enough people are in the Paxti’s camp to keep that franchise growing. [NoeValleySF]

Piedmont/Oakland: An expansion of Sparky’s Giant Burgers has been in the works for a while at the long vacant 4151 Piedmont Avenue, but things appear to be moving forward again with a new liquor license having just been issued last week. Sparky’s will be going head-to-head with Barney’s Gourmet Burgers almost directly across the street. For those isolationist San Franciscans who aren’t aware, Piedmont Avenue has become a major food hub in the last few years, with Dopo, César Latino, Commis, and the long-running favorite Bay Wolf all within a few block stretch. Lower Haight/Hayes Valley: That potentially temporary shuttering over at Roland’s Bakery in the Haight turns out to be permanent. But Roland is bringing his bagels to his new Hayes Valley café at the prime corner of Gough and Hayes (the former Essencia) within weeks, along with the attached Terra bistro and wine bar. [SFoodie]
Noe Valley: The Little Chihuahua, who already have a mid-range taqueria on Divisidero, are opening a second location in the former Bistro 24 space at 24th and Castro. Owner Andrew Johnstone says that after they get up and running (soon?) they’ll be adding a brunch menu as well. [Noe Valley SF]
