World Fare, the food bus we found in its infancy, is finally ready to hit the road! According to its Twitter, this bunny chow-boasting behemoth has finished its wrap and will embark on test-runs this weekend, to be followed by an official launch next week. The bus comes covered with a world map comprised of the faces of fans of who submitted their photos last month in the first double-decker food truck we’ve ever seen. Not only does this huge size give other food trucks an inferiority complex, but the bus can actually be boarded by guests to enjoy a boosted view while they eat the bunny chow recipes of former Michael Mina corporate chef Andi Van Willigan. What is she cooking?
The chef promises each bunny chow–a S. African staple of a hollowed out piece of bread filled with curries, stews, and roasts–is strictly made from Piedmontese beef, Jidori chicken, and farmer’s market veggies. In addition to pastries and sides like truffle mac and cheese balls, Van Willigan is also preparing a limited menu of daily specials as she feels inspired, in addition to standards like braised pork butt BBQ bunny chow and a veggie chili version among the choices. Check out the full menu here and stick to World Fare’s Twitter page to pin it down in the next few days.
