Bauer Digs Into the Small Plates at Barbacco; Gold Takes a Crack at Bruno’s

Michael Bauer shovels on the three-star praise this week for Perbacco’s new casual cousin Barbacco in the FiDi, giving special attention to small plates like the pan-fried ribollita and the bruschetta, and his favorite large plate (as previously mentioned) the “homey and satisfying” braised chicken thighs with escarole, almonds, confit garlic, and Castelvetrano olives. Patti U seems to have taken a week off, but Amanda Gold over at the Chron dropped in on Bruno’s and has great things to say about the brisket, grits, and ribs especially. She’s thankful too that while it’s a little cleaner inside than it was in years past, “it still looks and feels like a bar.” [Chron]
