You Won’t Find Hot Pockets in André Soltner’s Freezer


The celebrity fridge tour is somewhat of a tired trope (some time ago, New York peaked inside Mario Batali’s and Mireille French Women Don’t Get Fat Guiliano’s), but FCI dean and former Lutece chef André Soltner’s is a hoot, first and foremost because he abhors canned and frozen foods: “I always say, you better eat grated carrots which are fresh, than frozen caviar.” And: “A freezer is only for ice cream — nothing else.” Also amazing: He buys his Laughing Cow cheese in France.
