Goody’s, an icon for its Googie signage, veteran wait-staff, and throwback diner authenticity, closed last week after 50 years serving the San Gabriel Valley. This shutter was decided after the diner’s landlord boosted rent costs. Owner Salvador, who has worked at Goody’s since he was a 14-year old waiter, is meanwhile considering a new restaurant in El Monte. [L.A. Observed via Dinerwood]
