What to Eat at Green Bar, Open This Week at Embarcadero Center

There’s hope for recovery yet, kids! In the somewhat quiet, recession-sad environs of Embarcadero Center comes a shiny new lunch option: Green Bar, which just opened its doors on the lobby level of Embarcadero Center 3. It’s a daytime-only operation owned by Michael Majjar, the same guy who bought Fish & Farm in December, and who’s also an owner of Crown Bar in West Hollywood. This opening strikes an optimistic note over at the four-building complex — where we heard figures late last year of 40% office vacancies and where there’s still a big empty Chevy’s that the building managers now say is being converted into office space for a law firm.

Green Bar chef Elicio Soto offers a rotating hot bar, organic salad bar, sandwiches, and there’s a full catering service as well. To manage the catering, Majjar brought in Wanda Price and her entire staff from the recently closed Swiss Italia at 101 California.
