Trouble Uptown: Costco Cuts Jobs, Melba Toast Factory Closes

Months after the Stella D'Oro factory moved to Ohio, Crains brings news that Melba toast maker Old London Foods will close its outdated (and unionized) Bronx plant and move to South Carolina, resulting in the loss of 228 jobs. Meanwhile, in Harlem, DNA Info reports that after just two months in business, Costco is cutting 160 of its 453 employees owing to poor sales.
