Three’s a Trend: Pimento-Cheese Burgers

Pimento cheese, the southern staple that blends cheese, mayo, and sweet peppers, seems to be gaining favor round these parts. Tasha Garcia Gibson said she put a pimento burger on Tipsy Parson’s menu as a nod to her family’s beach tradition, and then Bobby Flay added one to the lunch menu at Bar Americain. And now A Hamburger Today says RUB served one as a special last night. Egg (who else?) also serves a country-ham-and-pimento-cheese sandwich. Plus, YumSugar, Serious Eats, and Slice have recently sung the praises of pimento cheese to home cooks. Could pimento cheese become the new biscuits and gravy?
