Ski bunnies are getting a posh new post-slope lounge to warm their bellies and show off their pole positioning, courtesy of L.A. nightlife-czar Sam Nazarian. Hyde Lounge, which might have been SBE’s most exclusive venture in L.A. and recently branched out to Staples Center, is opening a new location this Friday with Mammoth Mountain Resort, just in time for the region’s sports tourism peak.

Set in Mammoth Village, Hyde Lounge Mammoth will have views of the mountain’s main gondola and predicts 10,000 people will pass it daily, though it will remain the exclusive grounds of people whose star appeal boosts them past the velvet rope. The 5,000-square-foot space provides occupancy for just 320 guests inside and outdoors on a heated terrace and is opening for “the affluent ski and snowboarder crowd.” There will be an après ski bar menu with Kobe burgers, pigs in a blanket, and ale battered cod sandwiches, plus DJs who aren’t that much better than other DJs, but come SBE-approved. While it would take years to turn Mammoth into Aspen, Nazarian practically turned Hollywood into the Las Vegas Strip. So if anyone can, Sam can. Reservations for Hyde can be made over email.
