No. 7 Sub Reveals Menu, Hopes to Start Selling Singular Sandwiches by February 15

This past Saturday around midnight, the Ace Hotel lobby was so packed there was a line outside — that’s a line to get into the lobby! — and doormen-bouncers had to resort to admitting only registered guests. Meanwhile, the Breslin was doing brisk business even as its kitchen was preparing to shut down for the night. Clearly, the hipster hostelry has become a major social center as well as an eating-and-drinking destination. It will become even more so next month when Fort Greene’s No. 7 spawns the sandwich outpost Grub Street told you about last spring.

This is no Subway: Think quirky combos like seviche with leche de tigre mayo, and ham with pineapple and maraschino cherries. We’ll bring you pictures of Matthew Maddy’s design as soon as the space is finished; until then, whet your appetite with chef Tyler Kord’s envelope-pushing menu, below.
