Komodo Slithers to the Streets with ‘Burgerritos’

Speaking of the influence of Roy Choi, another chef previously engaged at a famous hotel restaurant is boarding his own food truck…only now with Asian burritos! Strange to think we got a Greek truck before this idea chugged into existence. Komodo recently held a test run in Little Tokyo and launch party at Studio 11, and today Thrillist points to the identity of the lizard-labeled truck’s mastermind, Erwin Tjahyadi, who cooked at San Diego’s Georges at the Cove and Nine Ten, and most recently as grill chef at Hotel Bel-Air. Komodo’s menu is a hodge-podge of Tex-Mex South Asian burritos like a “burgeritto”, grape slices with fish, and a “Seoul food special” with rib eye. There are random sides too like meatballs and guacamole rolls. View the menu on Komodo’s website and track them on Twitter.
