Keller’s Casual Dining Director Goes Solo

In an exciting development for both halves of California, Jeff Cerciello, director of casual dining at Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, is going solo. No creative differences are to blame, just Cerciello’s desire to start an empire of his own. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the executive, who started on the line at French Laundry and cooked at the first Bouchon, is looking for a casual restaurant space in Marin County and also hopes for his own gourmet market and café in Los Angeles’ Brentwood. Cerciello, who is also Keller’s future brother-in-law, will work with the Keller Group through June before making any big moves and has the complete approval of his boss. “It’s important for people to leave the coop and fly on their own,” Keller allowed on Cerciello’s ambitions.
