After filing his picks for 10 best restaurants, Alan Richman finishes up his assessment of last year by selecting the top five “mouthwatering meal-enders” of 2009. Desserts from New York, San Fran, L.A. Philly and Chicago restaurants all made the short list, which runs the gamut from the tame (upscale cannoli at Philly’s Osteria) to the slightly terrifying (caramelized sweetbreads with vanilla-bean-parsnip custard at Schwa in Chicago).
