El Bulli Goes on Hiatus

At the Madrid Fusion food conference today, El Bulli chef Ferran Adrià announced that he will be taking a sabbatical for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, temporarily closing his Costa Brava restaurant in order to give his culinary creativity a chance to reboot. (Also! Maybe to open a pizzeria?) In any case, get your reservations in while you still can — or hold off strategically, since Adrià promises that the new El Bulli will be something entirely new, saying only that “I know that when I return it will not be the same.” [Eater National]
