More opportunities to help Haiti while you eat, drink, and entertain yourself have appeared as more restaurants turn their profits into conscious donations for the island country torn apart by last week’s earthquake. While TiGeorges’ Chicken is still operating as a community center for L.A.’s Haitian community, here’s a guide to L.A. restaurants that are helping Haiti that covers a big swath of town and a wide variety of cooking styles. BreadBar: Next Sunday, January 31st Sunday Supper, with 50% of all proceeds going to the American Red Cross. 310-277-3770 for reservations.
IDG: The operators of BOA Steakhouse, Sushi Roku, Katana, and Robata Bar are making a giant effort to donate funds to Haiti, offering 20% of tonight’s proceeds to American Red Cross, Wyclef Jean’s Yéle Haiti, and the Clinton Foundation, all of which are providing fast relief to Haiti’s catastrophe.
Eagle Rock Brewery: 20% of all sales of Revolution Ale will go to a to-be-decided charity in Haiti. [via Daily Dish]
The Edison: A ten dollar suggested door charge is in effect this week, proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders, while a bigger event, Edison Haiti Benefit, is planned for Friday, January 22nd, with a silent auction of items like a Tim Burton-signed artist proof book and whiskey tastings.
IX Tapa: Jack Huang’s newest restaurant in Pasadena is having a reggae concert tomorrow night (Wednesday, January 20th) featuring three DJs and three performers, with all proceeds going to Haiti Relief. Although the Roots Function event, whose flyer features The Wailing Wailers in their rude boy era, says the event is free, tickets are actually five dollars, with a restaurant rep telling us it will likely sell-out. 9 p.m. at IX Tapa, Pasadena.
Kabuki: The Japanese chain will feature a donation drop-box at each of its restaurant locations, hoping that even one dollar contributed by 30% of its 500-800 daily customers will make a significant impact for organizations like American Red Cross, Southern California Registered Nurses Association, Doctors Without Borders, and Ben Stiller’s StillerStrong.org.
Mama’s Hot Tamales: Is currently looking for a Haitian Tamale recipe, with plans to donate all proceeds to help the country. [Squid Ink]
Pourtal: The west side wine bar is holding an event in Santa Monica tonight starting at 7 p.m., giving 25% of the proceeds from every wine tasting to relief efforts, while promoting the Santa Monica Red Cross.
Susan Feniger’s Street: The Hot Tamale half is on-board at her restaurant Street, giving 15% of all gift-card sales to Doctors Without Borders and inviting other restaurants to join its ‘Have a Heart for Haiti” campaign. She is also mulling over plans to remake her menu with Haitian food for the month of February.
Wilshire: This Next Sunday, January 31st, a $75 pre-fixe dinner of chef Andrew Kirschner’s specialties, served family-style will be offered, with 100% of the proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders. There will also be a silent auction. A reception begins the evening, where all staff is forgoing their salary for the benefit. 310-586-170 for reservations.

Buellton: The Hitching Post is donating one dollar for each of its guests to Direct Relief International Haiti Relief through January 21st. Also all online purchases totaling $50 or more will result in a one-dollar donation from the Central Coast restaurant.
