Next week from Monday through Friday, Rockit Bar & Grill (both locations) go crazy with their second annual Chili Fest. The week is anchored by turkey chili, chili mac, and (our personal favorite) chili cheese fries, plus each day brings a different variation on the classic bowl o’ red. They range from the highbrow — duck confit and scallops bracket the week — to the nearly explosive, with Wednesday’s “super hot chili” boasting ghost chilies and scotch bonnets and habaneros. Monday: Duck confit and pork sausage chili
pinto beans, tomato, and applewood smoked bacon
Tuesday: Ancho mole chili
ground black angus, smokey ancho chilies, Mexican chocolate, and cilantro
Wednesday: Super hot chili
Ground black angus, ghost chilies, scotch bonnets, habaneros, and red kidney beans
Thursday: True Texan chili
“No beans about it” with chipotle-rubbed beef brisket, tortillas, and sour cream
Friday: Scallop and white bean chili
Poached bay scallops, cannelini white beans, and sweet bell peppers
