Smokers Forced To Butt-Out of Outdoor Spaces

We hardly see anyone smoking in L.A., but the few remaining tobacco addicts are about to get the boot from one of their last remaining safe-havens. A division of The City Council approved measures that push smokers at least 10 feet away from restaurants’ outdoor spaces, reports The L.A. Times, and thirty feet away from food trucks. Nightclubs and bars that cater to crowds eighteen and older are exempt, but allowances for restaurants to create their own smoking spaces were totally scrapped. The City Council will take a final vote on the ordinance later this month, suggesting a one year grace period for places to comply. Smokers, that gives you a year to smoke ‘em while you can, then get your habit far from our dinner.
