Rainbow Café Defects to Brooklyn’s Chinatown

Manhattan’s Chinatown suffered a blow yesterday, as Rainbow Café’s lease expired at 154 Mott Street. The takeout nook has moved over the bridge to Sunset Park, at 773 60th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Rainbow wasn’t really on the chowhound radar (it closed too early and was too small to be a dinner destination), but we counted one dish — the fried chicken wings stuffed with sticky rice and Chinese sausage — among the absolute best cheap eats in the city. Manhattan’s loss is Brooklyn’s gain.
