Alice Waters is the latest culinary superstar to spin the wheels for KCRW’s Guest DJ Project. Waters selected five songs, offering insight into why they inspire her both in and out of the kitchen. We’re happy to report that her good taste in eating extends to the music she listens to, with no groan-inducing ballads like a certain Spanish chef we know. The Chez Panisse founder’s eclectic choices range from Youssou N’Dour and David Byrne to Radiohead and Nina Simone’s “I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl.” You might have to forgive her dip into Jefferson Airplane.
