Acme Chophouse to Split in Two

The future of Acme Chophouse became a little more clear today when Trace Des Jardins and co. announced plans to split the under-performing restaurant into two casual entities: An outpost of Mijita and a new joint called Public House. We can glean the basics of Mijita by looking to the Ferry Building location, but Eater has some details on Public House: “[It] will be more of a sports bar/gastropub-themed joint: sports watching, one of the biggest beer selections in town (draft beer and cask ales too), and a menu that will feature ‘grass fed hamburgers, pulled pork sliders, crab cakes, falafel, homemade desserts and more.’” General manager John Epperheimer and chef Thom Fox will both stay in place, as will most of the current staff, and the new ventures are due to open in time for baseball season next year.
