If you’ve noticed a dearth of honeybees lately, you’re not alone. “Colony collapse disorder” is the technical term for bees gone missing, and a film called Colony attempts to explain the source of the problem and the grave threat it poses to agriculture from the POV of one veteran beekeeper and two brothers who are new to the art. The film debuted earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival, and is screening in New York tomorrow at the IFC Center for one night only, as part of the fine “Stranger Than Fiction” series. Watch the trailer, see the film, and help some bees.
