Mo' Fro-Yo, Mo' Problems

Pinkberry Sets Its Sights on Boston

Trend-setting fro-yo chain Pinkberry is expanding to Boston, reports Restaurants & Institutions. Pinkberry is almost singlehandedly responsible for the tart yogurt craze of the past few years and has spawned imitators nationwide, including Boston’s own BerryLine and the now-defunct Yo! Berry. Last week, when Yo! Berry closed, we wondered if it signaled the beginning of a fro-yo backlash in the Hub, but Pinkberry’s opening (combined with the forthcoming Fenway Red Mango) suggests that maybe it’s just the end of an era for the knockoffs of big chains. Pinkberry spokesperson Michelle Lockheart tells us there haven’t been any decisions on when or where in Boston Pinkberry will launch, so tell us: where would you like to see it?
