We hear Limelight Marketplace, the “festival of shops” that fashion retailer Jack Menashe is opening in the old Limelight nightclub, will boast an organic grocer and a couple of restaurants (the eateries can’t be named yet, but one of them is said to be from a well-known Hamptons restaurateur). As for the 60 shops that will go into the space, one of them has now been confirmed. Mari Tuttle, a fashion designer turned baker (she was director of operations at Balthazar Bakery before striking off on her own), will open her first retail venture beyond the venues that currently offer her products (Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, and Carnegie Hall). Mari’s New York will sell packaged brownies in flavors ranging from blondies to cranberry cognac, caramel sea salt, and Thai coffee. Limelight Marketplace is expected to open in March of next year.
