Not every Boston-area bar is scrupulous about its alcohol program, reports WBZ. Investigators from the Massachusetts Alcohol Beverage Control Commission recently fined Somerville’s Joshua Tree for tampering with bottles of liquor and for fruit fly infested bottles and a former bartender charges that the club also dilutes top-shelf liquor with cheaper brands. Bars in Kingston and Springfield have also been fined for fraudulent booze. So to recap: your local bar could be charging you for watered down fruit fly infested vodka. Yay! Let’s all go out for a drink!
