Earlier today, a reader tipped us off that their Saturday night OpenTable reservation at Mia Dona had been unceremoniously canceled via e-mail. They and we were unable to reach the restaurant for an explanation, so we e-mailed a rep. Here’s the official word: “Now under the sole ownership of restaurateur Donatella Arpaia, Mia Dona has closed until further notice as of Monday October 5th. Mia Dona will undergo minor renovations and reopen in the coming weeks with a new menu. Further details are forthcoming.” Of course, Arpaia recently parted ways with chef Michael Psilakis, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the restaurant reopens with an entirely new chef and/or concept, the same way davidburke & donatella rebooted after Arpaia's departure. For now, reps are staying mum about it.
