Meatpacking Makeover: Revel and Paradou Upgrade; Abe, Bill Ready

More news today from the ever-evolving meatpacking district. Guest of a Guest followed our item about Bagatelle taking the Merkato 55 space with word that they’re planning an “Italian brasserie.” Now they reveal that the Koch brothers, who threw the popular brunches at Merkato (named “Best Bachannal”), are taking their business over to the Garden at Revel. Meanwhile, another meatpacking brunch spot, Paradou, is launching a food truck, per this Craigslist ad. All this, and we now have word that Bill’s Bar & Burger, the B.R. Guest project in the old Hog Pit space, will open in mid-October, with a La Frieda burger among the $8 to $16 menu items that will also include tater tots, chicken and steak sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken wings, onion rings, and spiked milkshakes. We’re thinking it’s going to be a battle of the burgers between this one and the cheese-packed Juicy Lucy over at Abe & Arthur’s, which is scheduled to open next week. Update: Abe and Arthur's reps tell us the restaurant opened early and is up and running!
