The Grocery Bistro
Opening this November in the former Alexandria space in the West Loop is Pasha Spanish Cuisine, a new tapas restaurant from Marcel Somfelean. The joint will serve “Moorish dishes and traditional Jewish cuisine from Spain,” notes Dining Chicago, and late nights will see live jazz, flamenco, and local groups like The Bandoleros. As for Mr. Somfelean, you might remember him from such exploits as owning The Grocery Bistro. And being accused of salary nonpayment via a poster on the side of a van belonging to then-Grocery-Bistro-chef Andre Christopher’s parents. And the ensuing lawsuit. And the eviction rumors.
