Food Trucks Will Compete to Make the Most Blechtacular Dish


If you’re not working next Thursday and feel like (literally!) frittering away the day gorging on heart-stopping food, boy, do we have something for you. This Is Why You’re Fat comes out next week, and in yet another example of food-truck marketing, co-author Jessica Amason is overseeing an “Eat N Tweet” challenge, wherein the Treats Truck, Cupcake Stop, the Bistro Truck, Wafels & Dinges, the Cravings Truck, and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream will offer dishes inspired by the book.

Starting at 11 a.m., @tiwyf will tweet the trucks’ locations, and the first to tweet photos of themselves eating the creations at all six trucks will win a private food-truck party for 25 (but will have to pay their own way at the emergency room). Maybe more exciting: The most popular of the dishes will be added to the permanent menu of the winning truck. Sounds fun, but maybe it’d be even better if some of the trucks worked in teams — maybe get Schnitzel & Things in on this along with the Cupcake Stop and do fried cupcakes?
