We’ve been hearing unfortunate rumblings for a while about Queen Village bistro Coquette and now, after apparently going dark for the past week, the Inquirer is reporting that the contents of the restaurant will be sold off by the sheriff on October 29.
Owner Cary Neff, who filed for bankruptcy protection when closing his previous restaurant, Sansom Street Oyster House, owes back wages to a former employee and the employee’s attorney has ordered the sheriff’s sale. The attorney, by the way, is with Community Legal Services, the same legal advocates that successfully sued Marathon Grill for back wages owed to employees. We’re waiting to hear back from Neff for comment.
