To show its greener side, Toyota has been promoting its hybrids through a national farm-to-table tour that praises local farmers in fourteen cities. This Sunday, the tour concludes at The Brentwood Farmer’s Market and some notable local chefs will be running their own stalls from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. So far, BLD/Grace’s Neal Fraser, Stefan Richter from L.A. Farm, Josiah Citrin of Cache/Melisse, Tangine’s Benameur Abdessamad, Asia de Cuba’s Philip Dubose, and Raphael Lunetta of JiRaffe are due to be there, with three to six more names to come, say organizers.
The chefs will each be partnered with a local farmer for the day, challenging themselves to feature the growers’ fresh products through tasting samples, while the public learns about sustainable shopping and growing. Toyota will have some vehicles on-hand to test drive, giving John Boos cutting boards to all who indulge, and will also make a donation to the organization behind Brentwood’s Farmer’s Market. The event is open to the public and takes place at 741 S. Gretna Green Way on Sunday morning.
