Bored to Death Undercuts the Tatiana Experience

Last night’s episode of Bored to Death revolved around the fictional Jonathan Ames’s quest to locate a singer at Brighton Beach nightclub Tatiana — which the real Ames has written about in the past. Vulture thinks this wins reality points, but we have to quibble, because Ames begs some goons not to throw him out since he just paid $38 for two dinners. That didn’t seem right: The cheapest prix fixe deal is actually $45 per head, which is still a relative bargain since it includes a free bottle of “white wine” (vodka) and admission to the greatest show on earth.
