Baobab Empire to Change Dramatically

Word on Mission and 19th streets is that the 12-year-old Bissap Baobab and its two sister restaurants are preparing for a drastic reorganization in the coming months. According to Eater, the plan is to close the original Bissap Baobap and consolidate that restaurant with Little Baobab, which will go dark in late November for a remodel, slated to reopen in early December under the same name but without the DJs and dancing of Bissap. That nightlife aspect will become part of BollyHood Cafe, which will be renamed Cafe Bissap. Finally, the original Bissap Baobab space will be converted to a Mediterranean venture with an Italian spin (and of course pizza). It is the Mission District, after all, and pizza is the word of the day.
