San Francisco a Conde Nast Traveler Favorite

Condé Nast Traveler readers voted San Francisco the top destination city in the U.S. for the 17th year in a row, in large part because of its restaurants. The latest edition of the Readers’ Choice awards also puts New York and Chicago at fourth and fifth, respectively, in the list of eight U.S. cities. Each city write-up mentions food as a reason the city is a favorite: In New York, editors noted the rollback in prices at places like Corton and Jean Georges, while in Chicago, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and David Burke’s Primehouse got nods. San Francisco consistently scores top marks in the reader survey’s restaurant category — and though the piece doesn’t mention any San Fran restaurants by name, its standing is buoyed by foodie havens like the Ferry Building and the surrounding wine country.
