Wolfgang Puck and his wife are being sued by investors in the .food domain who brought the chef aboard to promote it. The three plaintiffs, consulting firm Minds + Machines, Top Level Domain Holdings, and Frederick R. Krueger, allege that Puck made the deal fall apart, pushing for ownership rights to domain names beyond .food that the company disagreed to. They also allege that the Pucks spent company money on themselves, while Puck’s wife, Gelila, “became forceful, abusive, and erratic,” after failing to make the high-level introductions she promised. The lawsuit, according to Eat Me Daily, points to examples of Mrs. Puck’s bad behavior, saying she called Anna Wintour “just an employee” of Conde Nast, helping sever relationships between potential partners and .food’s investors. Mrs. Puck is also said to have boasted she was the “next Bill Gates,” who was creating the “new internet.” Going to court with Wolfgang seems like the in thing to do these days, whether he’s suing you or you’re suing him, so we’ll let you know if this suit has any legs.
