A day after it launched a free mobile application for Google Android handsets, San Francisco-based OpenTable announced today that would acquire Guestbridge, a company that makes reservation and guest-management software for restaurants and hotels. Their software keeps track of customers’ personal information, like birthdays and dining and room preferences, suggesting that OpenTable may be expanding beyond the restaurant reservation business. The company paid only $3 million for GuestBridge, or about 10 percent of the money OpenTable raised in its May IPO.
