Long before Cut and Jar, there was Nick + Stef’s, Joachim Splichal’s contempo take on the U.S. steakhouse, hiding Downtown in a corporate building off Hope St. Named for Splichal’s twin sons, this innovator of upscale chop-shops remains fairly unique for its prime beef dry-aging room and continues to push its imagination with exec chef Brian Kiepler in the kitchen, even after serving over an estimated 900,000 steaks in its time. The restaurant turns ten years old this fall and rather than pester us for a Playstation 3, it is offering guests a three-course tasting menu for $40. The menu will be served through November, and offers choices of some of their most desirable eats, like oak-grilled steaks and salmon, plus sides that include their famous potato puree. Want to see the whole tasting menu on offer for Nick + Stef’s 10th birthday? Simply read on:
