The Updated Menu for Pizzeria Stella, Now Open

Stephen Starr’s first foray into the pizza world, Pizzeria Stella, opened its doors today at 3 p.m. While we look forward to tasting the the wood-fired fruit of The Dark Restaurant Lord and Master’s pizza-recon missions, we’re exhausted just thinking about how much this will inflame the no-you-can’t-yes-you-can-get-good-pizza-in-Philly debate.

We’re already knee-deep in the hysteria of a Cupcake Craze and still reeling from the PYT-SquareBurger-Butcher-Village-Whiskey-induced BurgerMania of the summer of 2009, we’re not sure we can stomach a full-scale Pizza War, but for those keeping score, Starr is describing the wood-fired pizzas as “a cross between classic Neapolitan and New York-style pizza.”

In any case, the most up-to-date Stella menu, which has been tweaked yet again today and includes the beer and wine selections, can be viewed here. It is likely to change over the next few weeks as the restaurant goes through its growing pains.

Stella is open 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. No reservations accepted.
