Restaurant Week (part one) is upon us! The bi-annual promotion continues through September 25 (with the exception of Saturday, September 19) and this time around, includes a lunch option. So what happens now? Well, if you weren’t an early bird with your reservation-making, prepare to not eat before 11 p.m. at the most highly coveted restaurants. Or you can tune into our Restaurant Week counter-programming, wherein we provide you with a daily option that is not necessarily a part of Restaurant Week, but is still a worthy bargain. You have to head to Manayunk for this one, but if there’s a worthy reason to head northwest, it’s Jake’s and Cooper’s.
Cooper’s and Jake’s, both helmed by Bruce Cooper, are running your basic $35 prix-fixe; the good news is that because they are not officially part of the Restaurant Week promotion, they weren’t on the web site and haven’t jammed up with resy’s (yet). Here’s the menu, which is available in both of the side-by-side restaurants.

Lancaster Tomato Salad
Spanish olive oil/ Claudio’s mozzarella/ white anchovy/ balsamic
