Pretend Your Bar Crawl is Political!

You’ve marched for civil rights, women’s rights, you name it. Now you can march in support of liquor, a bipartisan cause if there ever was one. This Sunday at 5:30, there will be a “march to legalize cachaça.” Why the scare quotes? Because the name is a touch misleading.

First of all, cachaça isn’t illegal, it’s just misclassified as a Brazilian rum rather than as a category unto itself. And second, this isn’t a “march” so much as a bar crawl, hitting spots like Beehive and Eastern Standard, where specialty cocktails and tastings will be available. Despite the misleading name, it’s free and cachaça is delicious, so it will probably be a pretty fun way to spend a Sunday night.
