Mazu Realizes Bar Potential

Despite a lagging ABC, Mazu struggled itself open at the beginning of this month and started serving lunch and dinner with non-alcoholic drinks. That was fine and all, but they’re really a bar as much as they are a restaurant, so going there was like eating tater tots without ranch dressing. Now that their liquor license has gone through, they’ve brought the sauce with a vengeance, doing soju cocktails, beer, and wine, and a list of drink specials starting next week that includes the Lunch Break Special of a samosa and a mimosa from noon to 4 p.m. There’s also a new weekend late-night menu debuting Thursday. Check that out below.

Late Night Menu (11 p.m.-1 a.m.)
Fried chili garlic wings - 7
Dungeness crab cakes - 13
Crispy tofu - 6
D’s famous lumpia - 8
Dumplings - 6
Veggies dumplings - 6
Fried calamari - 7
Korean bacon-wrapped shrimp - 8
