Chicken Trend Hits GoldBar, of All Places

With its ludicrously priced drinks and tough door, GoldBar (which just celebrated its second anniversary, days after a recent stabbing) remains a veritable fortress of attitude, but the club tells us it’s opening up to the masses every Monday night. Jack Luber is reviving the Frankie Jackson’s Soul Kitchen parties that he threw at Wetlands and S.O.B.’s back in the day (meaning the nineties): Free fried chicken, made in house, will be passed around while D.J. Frankie Inglese spins soul classics — and we’re told the only bottle service available will be $12 forties of Colt 45 (a steal by GoldBar standards). Cover is $10. (A cover charge? How retro!)
