Dan Akroyd to Visit Wine & Spirits Store Thursday to Sign Bottles of His New Vodka

Dan Aykroyd will be visiting the Wine & Spirits store at 1218 Chestnut Street this Thusday from 4 to 6 p.m. to sign purchased bottles of his Crystal Head Vodka. You will be able purchase the premium, supernaturally-inspired vodka during the event; it retails for $49.99. Below, we learn a little bit more about the vodka and Akroyd’s fascination with the “invisible world.”

Aykroyd is said to have created Crystal Head Vodka as a result of his fascination with the supernatural. The vodka is triple-crystal-filtered through Herkimer diamonds, which, according to New Age belief systems, embody positive energy and goodwill.

Crystal Head’s clear, skull-shaped bottle was designed by artist John Alexander and made by Bruni Glass in Milan. The bottle’s design is meant to invoke the phenomena of the crystal skulls. (Yes, those crystal skulls.) The vodka itself is distilled in Newfoundland.

You can watch a rather crazy lengthy video all about the bottle, the vodka and the supernatural inspiration behind it here. Enjoy.
