A couple of reopening notes: A spot check indicates that Munchies is up and running again — an employee says the drunk-food joint was closed for three weeks owing to a gas leak, but it reopened last month with a new menu that includes milkshakes, cookies, and cheesecake. The news is not as good for Chinatown fish-ball shack BBQ Express, which is still closed for operating without a permit. Piccola Cucina also remains closed owing to what they say is a paperwork problem. Finally, Eater reports that West Village fixture Fedora has reopened after its beloved namesake’s back surgery.
