Home Team Taking Over Quince Space

When Quince moves out of its current digs to take over the old Myth space next month, a married team of chefs will move into the restaurant at 1701 Octavia to open a restaurant called Brown Butter. Former Home executive chef and pastry chef (respectively) Jeffrey Banker and Lori Baker have an application in to take over Quince’s liquor license, providing the first clue we’ve seen about the future of the Pacific Heights space. The pair worked at Home together, helping the restaurant open its Union Street location. Baker has worked as an instructor at California Culinary Institute, and now makes that bacon peanut butter brittle you get at Humphrey Slocombe. While we’re still short on details about Brown Butter, the pedigree suggests another bastion of Americana.
