Lunch

Finally, Yakitori Totto Starts Serving Lunch

Though its sister restaurant, Torys, serves lunch, Yakitori Totto never has. But this month, the beloved Japanese spot started serving between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. We haven’t yet performed a spot check, but since the lunch is still operating under the radar (no mention of it on Totto’s website), this may well be your way to avoid the dinner wait. The offerings are similar to the dinner ones: marinated raw octopus, assorted pickles, edamame, sea cucumber, soy-marinated daikon, salmon roe, dumplings, tuna sashimi, seaweed salad, yakitori over rice, chicken curry, and a selection of skewers including thigh, wing, gizzard, liver, breast, pork belly, asparagus, eggplant, and eringi mushroom. For dessert there’s ice cream. Main dishes run from $6 to $11. Unfortunately, just as with dinner, reservations are not accepted.
