District 5, Hot Dog Alley Grace the Haight

Looks like the space that housed Metro Kathmandu until last week won’t be quiet for long. Eater reports that a new “California comfort cuisine” restaurant from the same owners will open there this Wednesday. If the actual restaurant is anything like the website, little will change except the menu items. Even those won’t change all that much — turns out they’re even keeping the Everest Momo. In other opening news, SFoodie has word of the Haight’s new Hot Dog Alley, the tiny operation that has started slinging late-night dogs and links in the equally tiny alley adjacent to Nickie’s. They name their creations after SF neighborhoods, like the Tenderloin Dog — wrapped in bacon and served with jalapenos.
