The next issue of Bon Appetit includes a feature on the top ten new American restaurants, and Bar Jules is right at the top of the list. The “bohemian lunch and dinner spot” got the nod for chef Jessica Boncutter’s skill with simple foods like her burger and lamb stew. The folks at Bon Appetit particularly liked the lamb with preserved lemons. A general lack of attitude also did well for the little Hayes Valley restaurant: “There’s no mantra on the menu — no stuffiness in the dining room.” The issue hits stands August 11, but you can check out the full top ten list below.
