If you’re too old for an internship at an organic farm, you can still make your summer vacation about food, for a price. The Maine Event at Salt Water Farm brings the pillars of the Williamsburg restaurant scene — Marlow & Son’s founding chef Caroline Fidanza, butcher Tom Mylan, Egg chef Millicent Souris, and Dennis Spina from the Roebling Tea Room — to a more scenic locale for butchering and blueberry picking. “The week will be a riotous celebration of local food and the art of preserving the bounty of summer,” says Brooklyn Based. (There’s a chicken slaughter, too — prime time for sneaking away to play spin the bottle.) It’s $1,500 per person and $2,500 per couple, which includes meals, booze, cooking supplies, and lodging. But if you’re not feeling so flush right now, Intelligenstia coffee is auctioning a cupping (tasting) for eight and eight pounds of quality beans to benefit the Riverside Park Fund. Bidding starts at $100.
